KSHL and Toby Murry Toyota return with the second annual Oregon Sportsman
Expo to showcase outdoor activities we all enjoy along the beautiful Oregon
Coast.
Toby Murry Motors, your Northwest Toyota Dealer in South Beach, is the
presenting sponsor again for this successful event at the Main Exhibit Hall and
South Lawn Area of the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.
Response from vendors has been overwhelming – over forty booths will present
everything from unique fishing gadgets like the locally invented rod holder from
MKS Tackle, a full archery store from Archer’s Afield and North County Lures, to
D and R Quality Meats and Rooster’s Rocks.
The second local Head and Horns Competition with Boone and Crockett judging
all three days will award prizes for Rocky Mountain Elk, Roosevelt Elk, Black tail
Deer and Mule Deer in Riffle, Archery and non-typical and more. Judging will be
by Northwest Big Game Inc. Record size trophies can qualify to be entered in the
next edition of The Record Book for Big Game Animals.
Head and Horns Competition scoring information is now available at Toby Murry
Motors in South Beach or at the Oregon Coast Sportsman’s Expo during show
hours. Northwest Big Game Inc. will provide on-site scoring during all hours
each day of the show beginning 4 pm. Friday.
Another special attraction returning again with an all-new tour for 2015 is The
Rocky Mountain Great Elk Tour from Montana. This is a beautiful display of some of the largest, award-winning, Rocky Mountain Elk taken in America.
Hunting, tracking and fishing seminars are planned all three days with local
experts offering tips for local sportsmen in the classroom tent sponsored by
BiMart.
Activities for kids include the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife children’s
fishing pond with real live trout, co-sponored by Airrow Heating. The Rocky
Mountain Elk Foundation is presenting a the Daisy children’s BB shooting gallery
with prizers provided by BiMart. And Archer’s Afield is bring an archery range
and their pro will offer shooting classes.
Scheduled for three big days, the second weekend of Oregon Spring Break,
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 27th, 28 and 29th, local folks and tourists alike
will have fun learning about goods and services available locally to enhance their
outdoor experience on the Oregon Coast.
A wide variety of vendors will be on-hand, including indoor and outdoor furniture
and appliances from Roby’s Home Furniture, Equestrian tack and supplies for
trail riding and outdoor clothing plus pet needs will be displayed by Feed Corral.
Englund Marine Supply will bring the latest in marine tech and provide
information about the popular U Da Man Fishing Tournament. TCB SecurityServices and K&K Septic Service are providing their services and information about their businesses.
All outdoor sporting activities will be represented – rock hounds of all ages will
get to meet Rooster from Rooster’s Rocks in South Beach as he shares his
knowledge of the best rock-hunting areas and the beautiful agate and mineral
finds and creations he has to offer.
Free gifts from Toby Murry Toyota and Big Foot Beverage will be available while
supplies last each day. Valuable coupons from a variety of local businesses will
be available at the Toby Murry Toyota / KSHL booth and coupons for local
businesses will be available. Every attendee of the expo will also receive a free
one-year subscription to Northwest Sportsman Magazine.
Education is a primary feature for the several displays at the Oregon Coast
Sportsman’s Expo.The Oregon State Police will bring the “Trailer of Shame”, a collection of animal trophies that were taken illegally.
This will be a great opportunity for the community to meet The Lincoln County
Search and Rescue and The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Posse and many of the local
sporting clubs.
Experts from Dockside Charters, Coastal Guide Service, all the popular, local,
non-profit associations will be on-hand too – The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation
and Friends of the Nation Rifle Association.
Lots of “non-hunting and fishing” features will be at the expo too – Western Case
with everything from affordable wallets to backpacks, R & P Metal Art, Oregon
Coast Glassworks, Wind Drift Gallery, Alsea Bay Power Products and Nerium
International Skin care.
Another new feature this year is the “Duck Blind” an over 21 beer, wine and
casino gaming pavillion on the front lawn sponsored by Big Foot Beverages and
Chinook Winds Casino Resort.
Plus, a great selection of the best New Toyota and used vehicles provided by our
title sponsor – Northwest Toyota Dealers and Toby Murry Toyota.
This is truly a family-friendly event in every way, tickets are only $5 each for
adults, kids 17 and under are free with their parents.
